“Lyulinwood is an urban and social development project in the microdistrict 6 of Lyulin (Sofia).
After studying the area of action, a first building is born as a windbreak for the colder months, coming mostly from the west.
In the shelter of this building, clusters of smaller scale housing units are developed, immersed in the new forest that will connect Lyulin with the West Park.
The barrier building is a transition from the existing Lyulin to the new Lyulin. To the west: wind barrier, heavy construction and adapted to the existing. To the east: the new green Lyulin, light construction and openness to the forest.
The first floor acts as an interchange between the car, so present in Lyulin, and the bicycle, as a commitment to a more sustainable city.
The combination of different typologies of both housing and common uses, and its construction with prefabricated modules, configure a set of micro-communities of great flexibility and efficiency.”
